Shayna Babineau B.S., QMHA, CADC Candidate, LPC Intern
Shayna is currently pursuing her Master of Art in clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of the Cumberlands and plans to graduate in May of 2020. Shayna’s goal is to become a Licensed Professional Counselor registered intern and a Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor. Shayna also obtained her Bachelor of Science from Western Oregon University in Psychology with a minor in Forensic Psychology. She has also had the opportunity to work with individuals with mental health needs, as well as addictions.
Shayna works with children, adolescents, and adults who experience a variety of emotional and behavioral challenges that include depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, and addictions. Her treatment approach varies because she believes in tailoring treatment to meet the needs of the individual.
The foundation of her approach is derived from person-centered, family systems, and attachment theories. She emphasizes the importance of an open and productive therapeutic alliance, in which genuine interactions can provide opportunities for growth and insight.
